An ear prosthesis, also known as an artificial ear, is a medical device used to replace a missing ear due to injury, surgery, or congenital absence. It is a custom-made replica of the missing ear, made of silicone or other materials, and is designed to match the size, shape, and color of the person's remaining ear. It is worn over the remaining ear structure and is held in place by a special adhesive or a surgical implant. An ear prosthesis can improve the appearance of the ear and restore symmetry to the face. It is not able to restore hearing function.
